Metro transit commuters can enjoy the sounds of the season this week at three live, holiday music concerts. The holiday fun begins today with a performance from the Vashon High School Drum Line and Pep Band today at 5 p.m. at the Grand MetroLink Station. The 30-minute concert will be held at the Scott Avenue Transit Plaza, adjacent to the Grand station, and is free to the public.

NEWS RELEASE
The Bi-State Development Agency provided an update today on the status of the first comprehensive, full-scale rehabilitation of the truss and supporting superstructure of the historic Eads Bridge. The $40.2 million project is needed to upgrade the bridge and preserve a critical piece of the region’s $1.8 billion transit infrastructure so it can continue to serve future generations. The project is 50 percent completed with the north side of the bridge structure refurbished. The focus of the work now shifts to the south side of this national landmark.

As part of Metro's holiday music series, the Bayless Xpression show choir will entertain transit commuters with the
sounds of the season during a 30-minute concert at the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 MetroLink Station.
The performance is free to the public.

The Bi-State Development Agency (BSDA)/Metro began the monumental task of rehabilitating the 140-year old
Eads Bridge in 2012. As work crews complete work on the north side of the structure and turn to the south side
of the bridge, the Agency will update the public on the project's progress. Several materials excavated and
replaced during the rehabilitation of the historic bridge will be on display.

Metro announced today the holiday concert aboard the Holiday Magic Train featuring Honeyvox has been rescheduled for Sunday, December 14. The performance originally scheduled for last Saturday will begin at 2:02 p.m. at the Shiloh-Scott MetroLink Station. Honeyvox will perform high-energy dance tunes and holiday favorites while the train travels on the Red Line to the Lambert Airport Terminal 1 MetroLink Station and then returns to the Shiloh-Scott Station at 4:41 p.m.
