The Forest Park Trolley Is Your Ticket to Summer Movie Fun on Art Hill

Metro makes it easy for families and movie lovers to enjoy a movie under the night sky in Forest Park this month. The #3 Forest Park Trolley will provide special service on four Friday evenings – July 8, July 15, July 22 and July 29 — for the Saint Louis Art Museum’s Art Hill Film Series. The first movie in the lineup is Top Gun on July 8.

Movie buffs can park at any one of the 21 free Metro Park-Ride lots in Missouri and Illinois, ride MetroLink to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station, and then hop on the #3 Forest Park Trolley for a quick trip to Art Hill and the St. Louis Art Museum to enjoy the movie, food, music and fun on July 8, July 15, July 22 and July 29. On these Fridays, the trolley will operate every 30 minutes between 7:20 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. for Metro passengers headed to the film showings on Art Hill. After the movies have ended, the trolley will provide return trips from the Saint Louis Art Museum to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station at 11:25 p.m. and 11:35 p.m. on July 8 and July 15, and at 11:40 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. on July 22 and July 29.

Forest Park Trolley tickets are $2 for adults, $1 for children (ages 5-12), seniors and disabled passengers. There is no charge for children 4 and under. Valid Metro passes are acceptable fares for the #3 Forest Park Trolley.

The Art Hill Film Series provides movie lovers the opportunity to see a film while sitting in a scenic outdoor setting on Art Hill, between the Grand Basin and Saint Louis Art Museum in Forest Park. Movies begin promptly at 9 p.m., and seating space for blankets and lawn chairs is available on a first-come, first-served basis. This year, the Art Hill Film Series will be showing:

  • Friday, July 8 – Top Gun
  • Friday, July 15 – Rocky
  • Friday, July 22 – E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
  • Friday, July 29 – Forrest Gump
