Return to BlogPictured is a southbound streetcar on 12th Street and Olive in 1940 exhorting the public to “STOP, LOOK & READ” the billboard its carrying. The Public Service Co., the transit company at the time, was promoting its weekly pass, though it’s unclear why the week of Sept. 15-21 was being promoted.
