Emergency personnel took part in a training at the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 MetroLink Station last year.

The Belleville Fire Department will join Metro starting on Monday, April 24, for a four-day training exercise at the Belleville MetroLink Station.

Crews will train on how to conduct emergency operations on MetroLink and MetroBus, and have first-hand experience on the uniqueness of working with MetroBus vehicles and MetroLink trains and rails, as well as strengthen the coordination and communication required in situations where multiple agencies must work together efficiently.

The training exercise is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to noon from Monday, April 24 through Thursday, April 27.

During the training exercise, Red Line trains will operate on a single-track at the Belleville and Swansea MetroLink Stations. Red Line passengers may experience delays of up to five minutes. Blue Line MetroLink service will not be impacted.

Some parking spots at the Park-Ride lot at the Belleville MetroLink Station will be unavailable to commuters during the training exercises to accommodate fire trucks and equipment.
