#70 Grand Bus Service to Loughborough Commons Will Continue, Partners Work Together
Return to BlogIn a meeting between Metro, property managers of Loughborough Commons and Mayor Slay’s office, participants agreed that it was important to continue to serve the customers, employees and nearby residents who use that shopping center. Plans for relocation of the bus stop have not been finalized, but it was agreed that service to Loughborough Commons will continue. Service provided by the #70 Grand bus will not be discontinued June 13.
I just wanted to say how grateful I am the the #70 will continue to service the Commons. Thanks to all of you who helped me to save this bus stop not just for myself but for all my fellow faithful metro riders!!! Please know that you are greatly appreciated for all your efforts. Thank You!!!
Courtney,
Drifting a little off the path, I haven’t seen any announcements of quarterly changes in bus service posted (its been about three months since anything was last posted). Is there anything in the works for this quarter?
June 13. They are primarily small route or time changes. I will post this week and update the landing page, though the service changes are listed on the website and will update in Google Transit and TripFinder.
You know, I’ve always wondered about the bus stop at Loughborough – it seems to be in a generally bad location, traffic flow wise. I’m guessing that’s a consequence of the lease requirements.
Would it instead be possible to have the bus stop at the bench that’s currently on the 8 route, then go to Idaho (or Michigan), up to Holly Hills, and then back to Grand? I know this would add drive time, but I’m not sure how much idle time at the turnaround is built into the route schedule anyway.
Just thinking out loud.
