Apply to Be Part of Metro Transit Advisory Group
Return to BlogIn September, we announced on Nextstop that Metro will be forming a citizens advisory group to increase the level of communication between Metro staff and the community, and to provide Metro with valuable customer input. The application for this group is now available, and we will be accepting applications through December 16, 2011 for a January 2012 start date.
The Metro Transit Advisory Group (MTAG) is a voluntary citizens’ advisory group, established in 2011 to work with Bi-State Development Agency’s Board of Commissioners and Staff to increase public input on Agency decision and improve public transit service in the St. Louis region. MTAG will meet every other month, with regular correspondence from Metro staff facilitators on transit news and updates.
MTAG Members will help to provide a new channel of communication between customers and Metro management on issues relevant to the community. The Group will assist in developing and maintaining a transit system that is convenient, dependable and practical by providing advice and recommendations on planning and implementation of services and other matters of concern to Metro customers.
MTAG membership is open to community members age 18 or older and who reside within Metro’s service area of St. Louis City and St. Louis County in Missouri, and St. Clair County in Illinois. The MTAG will be comprised of approximately 12 members who are primarily transit users appointed by the Metro Board of Commissioners upon recommendation of the Metro staff based on member applications and a focus on diverse representation. Anyone interested in obtaining more information or joining MTAG is encouraged to call (314) 982-1440, email Courtney Sloger at [email protected] or write to:
