Balloon Glow and Race Impact Metro Service to Forest Park
Return to BlogThousands of St. Louis area residents look forward every year to attending the Great Forest Park Balloon Glow and Race. The Balloon Glow is tonight and the Race will be held tomorrow. The Balloon Glow will take place on the east side of Forest Park at Central Field. It is a walk through only event. You cannot drive through the event. To avoid the traffic congestion in the park, you may want to consider taking MetroLink to the Central West End Station and walking west to Central Field.
Due to road closures in the park for the Balloon Glow and the Race, the Forest Park Trolley is being rerouted today and tomorrow. The Trolley will travel between the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station Bus Stop and the Pagoda Circle ONLY. The Forest Park Trolley will operate every 40-minutes until 12:30 a.m. tonight, and will operate every 20-minutes tomorrow.
Also, starting at 5 p.m. tonight, the #90 Hampton WILL NOT enter Forest Park due to the Balloon Glow street closures and congestion. Tomorrow, the #90 Hampton will not enter Forest Park between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. because of the Race.

The Blue Line will operate from the Shrewsbury MetroLink Station to the Civic Center MetroLink Station only until early Monday morning. Blue Line customers should add an extra 20 minutes to their trip this weekend to allow for transfers from the Red Line to the Blue Line. The Red Line will not be impacted.
