Are the stops that are to be eliminated going to be replaced by new stops? If not then these stops shouldn’t be eliminated at all. Metro is not that convenient that it should be eliminating stops at all unless they have expressed interest in adding new ones.

  2. Fossella says:

Getting rid of the ones at 8793 Watson and Blackthorn is a good idea. I’d also clear out the other stops between Elm and Grant. It’s a wide, busy road, drivers do NOT watch for pedestrians, and having mid-block stops makes it really tempting to cross the street in a stupid place. I know, cause I do it 😉

    1. Courtney says:

      Thanks for the feedback, Fossella!

  3. Julie says:

On 66 you guys should consider getting rid of the one that is next to the post office truck bay rather than the one next to Palmer because I noticed alot of people who live in the apartments across the street from it use the one at Palmer but no one ever uses the one before it (I live in close proximity to 66 so I always hear it stopping).

But really, does 66 even run enough to warrant cutting out stops? I still think 66 should be completely done away with because with the amount of times 66 runs (6 times five days a week) you could make a Sunday schedule for 33 which would be far more utilized than 66 could ever be at this point.

I am gathering comments from planning Julie, and will respond as soon as I get them. Thanks for your thoughtful feedback!

How many 1992 buses are left in the fleet? I had the pleasure of riding bus 9238 on the MunyLink last week and I want to ride it again!!!

I really like the 21 because i love going to the the ROTHMANS FURNITURE store to shop for my home. And i also stops at the VALUE CITY FURNITURE so we should keep the 21.

    1. Courtney says:

We are definitely keeping the #21, danniboo, just a few of the stops are being removed to improve consistent spacing between stops. You can still use the route for sure!

    2. Courtney says:

Danniboo, thanks for your feedback. I’ll pass it along, but I can guarantee you the #21 is not going away.

  7. Michelle Jacobcik says:

I live near the Luthern Church and use the stop that is in front of it on a dialy baises. To remove this stop would mean walking at least three blocks to Elm to catch the bus. It does not make sence to remove it while keeping the bus stop across the street.

  8. Julie says:

Courtney, can you confirm to me what people are talking about with 64 and 33?

1 person said you are merging the route, and a couple of people on the bus today said that 64 and 33 will be sharing buses (meaning that when 64 enters the station it will become 33 and when 33 enters the station it will become 64).

I am confused about what is going on and would like to know what the official word is on it.

    1. Courtney says:

We are not merging the routes between the #64 and #33, but they will be “sharing” buses, like you said, the #64 enters the station and becomes the #33. These two routes will have some time connection changes, but no route changes.

please don’t eliminate the bus stop at woodson and palmer on #66. i usually ride the #66 going home from work, and that’s where i usually get off. in the winter when the snow is piled along the street, that’s the best way for me to go home. I live about 6 blocks form that stop. if i get off near walgreens, i have to walk down lackland since they dont’ shovel the sidewalks. thanks

  10. Courtney says:

    Marsha,

I heard from the planning department and they will be keeping the stop at Woodson and Palmer. Thanks so much for your feedback! Hopefully it won’t be too snowy of a winter. 😉

  11. Courtney says:

    Julie,

See the comment above, but we are keeping the stop at Woodson and Palmer. Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate your comments as well on ridership and frequency. Some of the issues have to do with maintenance or safety as well. But please continue to provide us feedback on how the stop program is working for you and fellow passengers.

  12. Valentina Ovchinnikova says:

The bus #21 Watson Bus stop at Park Crestwood and Watson needs a shelter. Since all of the shelters were closed at the Crestwood Plaza mall, there are no bus stops until Park Crestwood and Watson. The other closest stop is all the way by Kohl’s. Also a trashcan should be put at the bus stop since people can’t stop but litter all the time and no one picks up the trash anymore.

  13. Julie says:

Not according to the elimination sign still on the bus stop.

    1. Courtney says:

      Julie,

I’ll try to find out about the Woodson and Palmer stop. Might have not been updated yet.

  14. Julie says:

Or the bus driver that gave my mother hell for using it.

  15. Louise Thompson says:

I noticed the warning sign to end the bus stop at about 7750 Watson Rd is gone. The stop is in front of the Wayside Motel. It make sense to delete it since there is a stop a block away in across from Rothmans. I wondered if the motel requested it to remain or if the warning sign just fell off.

    Thank you,
    Lulie

    1. Courtney says:

      Lulie,

I will look into the issue with the stop and get back to you.

  16. Michelle Jacobcik says:

Julie, do you know when the changes in the bus stops for rout 21 are going to be made? I would like to be prepard

    1. Courtney says:

Michelle, the changes to the #21 Watson have already been made; the commenting period ended on August 29. Would you like a list of the eliminated stops or inquiry about a particular one?
