Evening Rail Work Will Cause Delays for Some MetroLink Passengers

Return to Blog

Crews will conduct maintenance work on the MetroLink tracks between the Union Station MetroLink Station and the Civic Center MetroLink Station evenings this week (October 15-21). That will create up to 10 minute delays for some passengers.

Starting at 8 p.m. tonight and Tuesday, October 15-16 & Sunday, October 21, MetroLink trains will operate on a single track between the Union Station and Civic Center Stations with Blue Line trains ONLY running from Forest Park-DeBaliviere to Shrewsbury. Westbound Blue Line passengers traveling between the Fairview Heights Station and the Central West End Station should board a Red Line train to Forest Park-DeBaliviere  to transfer to a Blue Line train. Eastbound Blue Line passengers traveling between the Central West End Station to the Fairview Heights Station should board a Red Line train at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station to continue eastbound. Blue Line passengers may experience 10 minute delays while Red Line passengers may encounter 5 to 10 minute delays.

Starting at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, October 17-19*, MetroLink trains will operate on a single track between the Union Station and Civic Center Stations. Both Blue Line and Red Line passengers may experience delays of 5 to 10 minutes.

*Rail work would begin later than scheduled if the baseball games go longer than expected. Metro will monitor the crowds on the MetroLink platforms before and after National League Championship Series Games 3, 4, and 5, and will provide extra service, if needed.

Starting from beginning of service until 8 a.m. Saturday, October 20, MetroLink trains will operate on a single track between the Union Station and Civic Center Stations with Blue Line trains ONLY running from Forest Park-DeBaliviere to Shrewsbury. Westbound Blue Line passengers traveling between the Fairview Heights Station and the Central West End Station should board a Red Line train to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station to transfer to a Blue Line train.

One of two nights this month there is a show in our downtown performing arts center and this? But grand avenue has its bridge open and 40/64 west of Jefferson never or seldom sees disruption?
