Bi-State Development Agency/Metro will host two informational meetings on June 25 focusing on the planned expansion of one of Metro’s busiest transit hubs, the Civic Center Transit Center.

Located at 14th and Spruce Streets in downtown St. Louis, the transit center serves MetroLink and 18 MetroBus routes. Metro is restructuring the property to more effectively accommodate MetroBus vehicles and to improve customer safety, convenience and comfort.

The informational meetings will occur:

Wednesday, June 25, 2014

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

St. Louis City Hall Rotunda, 1200 Market Street

The expansion of the transit center will include 18 bus bays, two Call‑A‑Ride bays and space for 60-foot articulated buses that will help ensure better timed connections between the routes.

A new building will be constructed on the site to provide an indoor, climate-controlled customer waiting area with public restrooms, digital messaging boards, a security sub-station and concessions. Construction will begin this fall, and the project is expected to be completed in fall 2015.  Arcturis Inc. was awarded the project design contract.

The general public is invited to attend one of these open-house style meetings to learn details about the Civic Center Transit Center Expansion Project. For those unable to attend, they may comment on the expansion project by leaving a message at 314-982-1599, by email to [email protected], or by mail to:

            Bi-State Development Agency/Metro
Attn: Planning – Civic Center Project
            707 North 1st Street

Information will be available about the project design, construction timeline and temporarily MetroBus reroute plans. Metro employees will be available to answer questions one-on-one. No formal presentations will be made.
