Help Wanted: MetroLink Gateway Card Testers
Return to BlogBe one of the first to try out the new Gateway Card and help us shape how this new fare collection system will work — by signing up as a Gateway Card tester.
Metro is finishing up the first phase of testing for our new Gateway Card fare collection system on MetroLink. Before the Agency is ready to move forward with phase two, we’re looking to add another small group of train-only commuters to our trials.
To sign-up as a tester, you need to meet these requirements:
- Be a MetroLink-only customer who rides frequently
- Do not receive Metro Passes from your employer
- Have an email address
If you match up with this criteria, please fill out the Gateway Card Pilot recruitment survey. All test participants will be entered into a drawing to win a free 30-Day Metro Pass.
As a tester, you will be given a Gateway Card and asked to provide input about your experiences when using the new fare system. Metro started testing last September and is working to implement adjustments based on feedback and suggestions we’ve already received. For example, Metro will provide clearer instructions and functionality on ticket vending machines, will facilitate an upcoming educational campaign to “tap, hold and go!” and will enhance the card administration and distribution process.
