Return to Blog

MK14724_blogThe Holiday Magic Train is decorated with garland, lights and ornaments, snowflakes on the windows and big holiday wreaths adorning the front and back of the train. But, that’s not all.

Starting today, we’ll begin a holiday photo contest that will add even more fun to the MetroLink commute during the holiday season. Passengers on board the Holiday Magic Train are invited to take pictures at special areas on the train for a chance to win free tickets to a St. Louis Rams game.

To enter into the contest, Holiday Magic Train riders should look for a “photo booth” cutout where they can take photos of themselves or others posing, and then share their photos on social media.

Here’s what you need to do to enter the contest:

  1. Follow Metro transit on InstagramTwitter and Facebook.
  2. Take a photo of yourself and/or others using the “photo booth” cutout.
  3. Tag your photo using the hashtags #STLMetro and #ExploreStLouis.
  4. Post your photo on social media (make sure your account is public).

To enter, photos must be posted on social media by midnight on Sunday, Dec. 14  Photos tagged correctly as outlined above will be posted on our Facebook page for voting starting on Dec. 15. The photo with the most votes (Facebook “likes”) on Facebook will win tickets to the St. Louis Rams/New York Giants game on Dec. 21. The voting period will run from Dec. 15 to Dec. 17 and the winner will be announced Dec. 17 at 5 p.m.

Submitted photos must contain both hashtags to be accepted. You may only submit one photo and you need to complete all four steps to be entered in the contest. Bi-State Development Agency employees are not eligible to participate.

The Holiday Magic Train is a partnership between the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission and Metro transit, and this is the fifth year the train has traveled on the Red and Blue MetroLink Lines to bring holiday cheer to thousands of area commuters.

Good luck and happy holidays from Metro transit!
