Masks Required on Metro Transit Through April 18
Return to BlogMasks or face coverings continue to be required for riders and team members when on MetroBus, MetroLink or Metro Call‑A‑Ride vehicles, and while at Metro Transit Centers and on MetroLink station platforms.
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requires proper wearing of face masks, per federal law, and face masks are to be worn at all times. Failure to comply will result in denial of boarding or removal, and may result in penalties. Metro Transit will continue to comply with this federal policy, which was recently extended until April 18, 2022.
Masks are required for individuals who are vaccinated against COVID-19 and those who are not vaccinated.
Riding Safely
Here are some reminders for riding safely with us:
- Federal mandate requires everyone to wear a mask on Metro Transit. Please wear your face covering on MetroLink platforms, at Metro Transit Centers, when riding on MetroLink, MetroBus and Metro Call‑A‑Ride vehicles or waiting for your bus.
- Whenever possible, practice social distancing when on your vehicle or when waiting at your stop.
- Use the Transit app for a contactless fare. You can buy most MetroBus and MetroLink passes through the Transit app with our mobile fares option.

What happened after April 18, 2022?
We will announce any updates to the mask mandate as we receive them. At this time, we do not know if the mask mandate will be extended.
Still don’t see the point of this mask shit. There’s no scientific proof they help stop from catching covid. I’m glad the cdc is getting sued because this “kicking the can down the road” shit is passing me off
Yes i agree.. masks does not work.. it brings down your immune system.. covid is just another strain of the flu.
