Metro Quarterly Service Update Scheduled for November 27

Metro will make minor adjustments to more than two dozen MetroBus routes on Monday, November 27, as part of its quarterly service change.

Metro monitors and reviews feedback from its riders and bus operators, and uses this feedback and other trip data to make updates to MetroBus routes and schedules. These service updates improve on-time performance and MetroLink connections, and are a part of Metro’s commitment toward building a better experience for the transit riders throughout the region.

Service Change Details

Civic Center Transit Center: Effective November 27, there will be new bus bay locations for all routes serving the Civic Center Transit Center, except for the #04 Natural Bridge. These changes will help improve passenger connections and make it more efficient for buses to enter and exit the transit center.

    There was no need to change they bays at wich the busses stoped at the civic center. And not sure why the 10 route has been changed many people used the chouteau stops these changes metro does makes no since at all. Who ever makes theses changes needs to be riding the routes to see what needs corrected not sitting in an office behind a desk

      We are opening a new exit on the south end of the Civic Center Transit Center, so six of our bus routes will no longer be using the Spruce Street exit. This change is in response to the multiple feedback from customers and stakeholders on leaving the Civic Center Transit Center behind schedule.

    This is the most asinade change it. There is a large population that catch the bus on Choutea Ave. If they miss the bus they have to walk across the bridge. This is just in humane. Whoever make these change need to ride the bus at night and get an realistic idea of whats going on. All bus heading south needs be point on the south in and bus headed north should be on the north end with a new entrance and exit. Buses should not have to be subject to the Scott Trade traffic this is just stupid.

      Thanks Michelle for providing your feedback regarding the latest Service Change. We opened a new exit on the south end of the Civic Center Transit Center, so six of our bus routes will no longer be using the Spruce Street exit. This change is in response to the multiple feedback from customers and stakeholders on leaving the Civic Center Transit Center behind schedule. As for bus stops on Choteau, the only stops affected are the westbound bus stop on Chouteau west of Tucker and east of 14th. The alternative bus stop will be the bus stop eastbound on Chouteau west of 14th or northbound on Tucker north of 12th St. Let us know if you need additional assistance.     There were apparently other changes, not listed. Specifically, the 31 westbound has changed. Now, my roommate can either get to work (Manchester @ Kingshighway) 30 mins early (6:26am) or 10 mins late (7:06am). He was previously getting there about 6:45am?

    It’s really unfortunate that some of the buses run so infrequently. It makes public transit a much less convenient option.

      Lisa, the #31 Chouteau was listed as having a modification to its schedule per the Quarterly Service Change (link below). The schedule was changed on this particular route to better facilitate connections with the MetroLink light rail system. While the schedule for this route has changed, we may be able to find a different way for your roommate to get to work. I’d recommend him calling Transit Information Services — 314-231-2345 — to explore alternative options.

    Amazing how a few minutes messes things up. I catch the #74 bus at Flo Valley going to the NCTC at 6:01 am. I then catch the 174x at the NCTC which leaves at 6:10. Worked great. Now the 74 doesn’t come until 6:06, so catching that 6:10 174x is not a sure thing. I barely made it this morning. There is a #76 originating at the NCTC and shuttles to Flo Valley, back to the NCTC. But that also hits Flo at 6:06. So now, unless I want to start my commute a lot earlier, I’ll have to find a ride to get to the transit center for my 174x, which is frustrating since there are TWO buses I could have caught at Flo, but now they run too late to do me any good.

      Trini, thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the recent Quarterly Service Change. Per the service change, we did change the #74 Florissant schedule – particularly two morning trips – to better provide service to the North County Transit Center. We also modified the schedule to better connect with the MetroLink light rail system. We also modified two evening times on the #174X North Express in downtown. No changes were made to the #76 Larimore. We appreciate your feedback as it will help shape future service modifications. Metro planners are able to enhance transit service four times each year, so we’ll make sure your feedback is logged. In the meantime, go ahead and call Transit Information Services to make sure you have the best commute with the routes available – 314-231-2345.

    The new routing north on Tucker to Clark Ave is causing buses to be delayed getting into Civic Center when there are events at Scottrade Center.
    I think this was missed.
    The reasoning for this routing change makes no sense to me.
    How many complaints were there with the old routing. The old routing was there for years so it mnakes no sense to do something that probably was avoided in years past due to this.
    An alternative would be to allow buses to turn left on Spruce and avoid traffic on Clark. Buses should be allowed to make this left turn and this will also show the city’s support of transit versus cars.

In the meantime, I wanted to let you know that we’ve been in contact with the city to improve bus movement at the Civic Center Transit Center. Specifically, we’re working with the city to upgrade traffic signals at 14th and Clark. Thanks again for your feedback.
