Some of you tell us how wonderful your Metro operators are, and we agree. We have some of the best operators you will find in public transit working at Metro transit and we need more operators.

If you know someone who enjoys working with people and would make a good operator, please tell them about our job fair coming up at the end of the month in Sunset Hills.

We are looking for MetroBus operators, Metro Call-A-Ride van operators and MetroBus station mechanics. We are seeking dynamic, team-oriented individuals who are willing to step up to the challenge of providing on-time, clean, safe and friendly service to our customers. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package (medical, dental, 401K, life insurance, vacation and free public transit).

MetroBus Operator (part-time)

A MetroBus operator transports passengers over specified routes according to a time schedule. Operating the bus safely, while announcing stops and maintaining good relations with customers is key.  MetroBus operators are assigned to work out of one of our three bus facilities: DeBaliviere, Brentwood or Illinois. All MetroBus operator positions start as part-time with possible advancement to full-time based on job performance.  Salary during and immediately after training is $14.74 per hour.  Top salary rate is about $21.05 per hour after the completion of 48 months of full time employment.


Metro Call-A-Ride Van Operator (full-time)

A Metro Call-A-Ride van operator is a critical position within Metro, providing transportation to elderly and disabled passengers over varying routes. Annual salary starts at about $28,500. Van operators are eligible for medical and dental benefits after completing a 90 days of employment.


Station Mechanic (full-time)

Station mechanics perform all repairs and maintenance on the MetroBus vehicle fleet.

    I’m a little confused. Is the job fair on Saturday June 27th or Sunday June 28th? You have it posted as Saturday June 28th. Would you please e-mail me the correct date, so that I can attend? Thanks!

      Carlos, there is no job fair this year (the date of this blog is June 17, 2014).
