Saturday, June 28 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Holiday Inn 10709 Watson Road St. Louis, MO 63127We are looking for MetroBus operators, Metro Call‑A‑Ride van operators and MetroBus station mechanics. We are seeking dynamic, team-oriented individuals who are willing to step up to the challenge of providing on-time, clean, safe and friendly service to our customers. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package (medical, dental, 401K, life insurance, vacation and free public transit).
MetroBus Operator (part-time)
A MetroBus operator transports passengers over specified routes according to a time schedule. Operating the bus safely, while announcing stops and maintaining good relations with customers is key. MetroBus operators are assigned to work out of one of our three bus facilities: DeBaliviere, Brentwood or Illinois. All MetroBus operator positions start as part-time with possible advancement to full-time based on job performance. Salary during and immediately after training is $14.74 per hour. Top salary rate is about $21.05 per hour after the completion of 48 months of full time employment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, with the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Minimum one (1) year customer service experience
- Three (3) years driving experience and a safe driving record
- General geographic knowledge of the St. Louis Metropolitan area
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to pass an essential functions test
- Able to pass a pre-employment Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen to obtain a 2-year DOT certification
Metro Call‑A‑Ride Van Operator (full-time)
A Metro Call‑A‑Ride van operator is a critical position within Metro, providing transportation to elderly and disabled passengers over varying routes. Annual salary starts at about $28,500. Van operators are eligible for medical and dental benefits after completing a 90 days of employment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, with the ability to obtain a Chauffeur’s License
- Minimum one (1) year customer service experience
- Three (3) years driving experience and a safe driving record
- General geographic knowledge of the St. Louis Metropolitan area
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to pass an essential functions test
- Able to pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen to obtaining a 2-year DOT certification
Station Mechanic (full-time)
Station mechanics perform all repairs and maintenance on the MetroBus vehicle fleet.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, with the ability to obtain a CDL
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays and various shifts
- Excellent benefit package and annual salary starting at about $46,000
- Automotive technology certification or diesel technology is a plus
