Evening and late night MetroLink operations will be modified every night this week through Sunday night so crews can upgrade the light rail system at the East Riverfront MetroLink Station.

Starting at 8 p.m. tonight through Sunday night through the end of service, Blue Line trains will only operate between the Shrewsbury MetroLink Station and the Civic Center MetroLink Station. Eastbound Blue Line passengers who want to travel east of the Civic Center station will need to transfer to a Red Line train at the Civic Center station to continue eastbound. Westbound Blue Line passengers will need to use the Red Line to travel between Fairview Heights and the Civic Center stations. They will need to transfer to the Blue Line at the Civic Center station. These passengers should allow an extra 10 minutes to their commutes. Red Line customers will not experience any delays on the MetroLink system during the evening construction work. Regular MetroLink service will resume at the beginning of service each weekday morning.    

Modified MetroLink operations will also be in effect Saturday and Sunday morning this weekend from beginning of service until 8 a.m. each morning so repairs can be made to overhead wires. Blue Line passengers will experience delays of approximately 10 minutes as the Blue Line will only operate between the Shrewbury and Civic Center MetroLink stations. Red Line customers will also be impacted by the work and should allow an extra 10 to 15 minutes for their commutes Saturday and Sunday morning before 8 a.m. The Westbound platforms at Laclede’s Landing, Convention Center, 8th and Pine, and Stadium MetroLink Stations will be closed. All passengers will use the Eastbound platforms only. Regular weekend service is scheduled to resume at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
