MetroLink Work Scheduled November 3 and 4
Return to BlogMetroLink riders should allow extra time for their midday commutes on Thursday and Friday this week as work on the MetroLink system may result in minor delays for some passengers.
To accommodate survey crews, MetroLink will operate on a single track between the Belleville and College MetroLink Stations on Thursday and Friday (November 3 and 4) from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Red Line passengers may experience delays of 5 to 10 minutes. Blue Line service will not be affected by this work.
Why are we using Red and Blue line rather than the A and B line to distinguish the lines? This is confusing. I take the A line and guess that’s the Red line because of the stops but it doesn’t help clarify when we don’t use the same references.
Thomas, our MetroLink lines are distinguished using colors and not letters. These colors are applied to all our system maps and coordinating transit material. The colors are also represented on each train — in the front head signs as well as on the side of each train car.
Hi Matt:
When Metro is doing construction work along the ML-ROW why can’t this work be done after regular service ends for the night instead of single tracking? It seems to me the least disruption to service the better.
Thanks.
John
John, an excellent question. For the most part, MetroLink tries to schedule its maintenance work during revenue service or late in the evening when MetroLink is not operational. However, there are times where this window does not provide enough time between the end of service in the evening and beginning of service the next day to perform all maintenance activities during non-operating periods.
