When Darlene scored a new job in the city, it required a shift in her commute.

The best thing about it? With her new commute, Darlene was able ditch the car and instead rely on public transportation five days a week.

“I hate driving,” she said. “There’s traffic in the morning, traffic in the evening. I think public transportation is important too, so I want to support it.”

Today, Darlene gets to work by boarding MetroLink at the Fairview Heights MetroLink Station. From there, she rides the train to the Union Station MetroLink Station. She has been riding Metro Transit for about two years.

Darlene enjoys all of the benefits her commute brings. Her train ride allows her to read instead of focusing on the road and feeling the stress of driving and traffic. She’s also able to get a good walk in everyday when she’s headed to or from the MetroLink Station.
