Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 Station Construction May Impact Riders

Return to Blog

Shrewbury ParkingCrews are preparing to begin construction work at the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 MetroLink Station this week.

The retaining wall work, which will take several months to complete, will impact traffic and about three dozen parking spaces on the southeast side of the Park-Ride lot at the station.

Metro passengers who park at the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 MetroLink Station or who are dropped off or picked up by another motorist may experience brief delays starting June 15 while accessing the lot. Customers are asked to allow extra time to catch their trains or buses during the day when construction is underway.

About 35 parking spaces east of the drop off circle of the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 Station will be unavailable to commuters beginning June 11 and throughout the duration of the work to accommodate construction equipment and supplies. The remaining 765 parking spaces at the station will not be affected.

Motorists should use caution, and pay attention to flaggers and workers directing traffic in the construction area of the Park-Ride lot.
