Skip the Parking Headaches and Ride Metro to Celebrate St. Louis
[ST. LOUIS, MO/July 1, 2026] Thousands of people are expected in downtown St. Louis this weekend on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, for Celebrate St. Louis. MetroLink is the easiest and most convenient way to enjoy all of the fun, festivities and fireworks, while avoiding parking fees, traffic jams, and road construction. Metro is recommending visitors use the Laclede’s Landing MetroLink Station for Celebrate St. Louis, as it is conveniently located directly next to all the 4th of July action at Gateway Arch National Park.
With 21 free Park-Ride lots and more than 10,000 free parking spots at MetroLink stations in Missouri and Illinois, Metro said its goal is to always be the best choice for anyone traveling to major events in the region like Celebrate St. Louis. Metro makes it easy to park your vehicle for free, purchase your ticket and hop on MetroLink for a convenient ride to Celebrate St. Louis. Fairgoers are encouraged to download the Transit app to easily plan their Metro trip to the celebration, and avoid lines by purchasing a $5 Day Pass on their mobile device, good for round-trip travel to and from all of the festivities in downtown.
Metro will have extra transit and public safety personnel on the transit system to assist riders. Extra MetroLink trains will be available if needed to help get everyone home after the fireworks. Customers are also advised to check the weekend MetroLink schedule in advance for departure times, as the last trains leave downtown around midnight.
