Transit Access Center Moves to North County Transit Center on May 18

[ST. LOUIS, MO/May 8, 2026]  The Transit Access Center (TAC) is relocating to the North County Transit Center at 3140 Pershall Road in Ferguson, Mo., beginning on Monday, May 18. This move brings the TAC team into the same building as other Metro services, has on-site public safety, and improves access for riders arriving by Call‑A‑Ride or personal vehicle. The new location will also expand the center’s capacity to offer on-site travel training, giving staff more opportunities to help riders understand and use the full range of transportation options available to them.

The last day of operations for the Transit Access Center at its current location at the corner of 8th & Pine Streets in downtown St. Louis will be next Tuesday, May 12. The TAC will operate in a remote-only capacity from Wednesday, May 13 through Friday, May 15, before opening at the North County Transit Center location on Monday, May 18.

Transition Dates at a Glance:

  • Last day at 8th & Pine location: Tuesday, May 12
  • Remote-only service available: Wednesday, May 13 – Friday, May 15
  • Grand Opening at North County Transit Center: Monday, May 18

The Transit Access Center serves Metro Transit riders with disabilities and those ages 65 and older, providing access to three essential services:

  • Travel Training introduces individuals and groups to MetroBus, MetroLink, and Via Metro STL service at no cost, helping riders learn specific routes, navigate destinations, and use tools like the Transit App.
  • Reduced Fare Permits allow seniors and riders with disabilities to pay half fare on MetroBus and MetroLink.
  • Metro Call‑A‑Ride Eligibility helps riders whose disabilities prevent them from using fixed-route service to independently apply for Metro Call‑A‑Ride paratransit service.
