Public Hearing Set for Manchester Road Improvements

Return to Blog

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is hosting a public hearing tomorrow regarding safety improvements on a portion of Manchester Road between Lindbergh and Big Bend Boulevards. This particular section of roadway serves the #57 Maplewood-Wildwood MetroBus route.

In addition to resurfacing the roadway, MoDOT will replace signals and make updates to storm sewers and medians. In some locations, they will replace the existing gutter with curbs and will provide more defined driveways for several businesses. There are no planned changes to existing lanes on Manchester Road.

As a part of the project, MoDOT is also planning to make significant improvements to sidewalks along as much of the corridor as possible, including ensuring sidewalks meet Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.

Those interested in learning more about this project can attend the public hearing on March 27 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Brentwood School District Conference Center, located at 1201 Hanley Industrial Court.

MoDOT is scheduled to target construction sometime in the summer of 2020.
