Metro Transit is Your Ticket to the Cardinals Home Opener

Tens of thousands of baseball fans will converge in downtown St. Louis on Thursday, March 27, to celebrate the St. Louis Cardinals Home Opener. With four MetroLink stations and more than a dozen MetroBus routes near all of the action, Metro Transit makes it easy to enjoy all the thrills and excitement of Opening Day without dealing with crowded streets, heavy traffic and limited parking.

MetroLink

Baseball fans can park their vehicle at any one of 21 free Park-Ride lots located at MetroLink stations in Missouri and Illinois, purchase a $5 round-trip MetroLink fare, and then ride to the Stadium MetroLink Station, located next to Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village. Riders can also travel to the Civic Center, 8th & Pine or Laclede’s Landing MetroLink Stations in downtown St. Louis to connect to other Opening Day festivities and rallies taking place throughout the area. Please note the Convention Center MetroLink Station is currently closed for construction.

MetroLink will operate its regular weekday schedule on Thursday, March 27. MetroLink platforms will be monitored throughout the day, and extra trains will be added into service if needed. Metro Transit and Metro Public Safety personnel will be deployed throughout the system to assist passengers.

MetroBus

Baseball fans can also take advantage of more than a dozen MetroBus routes serving downtown St. Louis at the Civic Center Transit Center, located just three blocks west of Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village. A one-ride MetroBus fare is just $1. MetroBus routes serving Civic Center include: #4 Natural Bridge, #10 Gravois-Lindell, #11 Chippewa, #19 St. Louis Ave., #30 Arsenal, #31 Chouteau, #32 ML King, #40 Broadway-Halls Ferry, #41 Lee, #73 Carondelet, #74 Florissant, #94 Page, and #97 Delmar.
