Various retail vendors throughout the metropolitan area (such as Schnucks Markets) sell Metro fares, but the amount and type of available passes at each location varies. It’s a good idea to call the vendor in advance to make sure they have the specific pass you need.

Almost every type of ticket or pass can be purchased at a Metro Ticket Vending Machine. Ticket Vending Machines are located at all 37 MetroLink stations and at most Metro Transit Centers. All Metro Ticket Vending Machines will accept one, five, ten and twenty dollar bills for any transaction, as well as Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
You can purchase your fare on MetroBus by inserting your payment into the farebox when you board. Please remember, you must have exact cash when boarding, the farebox cannot make change. No checks or credit cards are accepted on MetroBus. If your trip requires you to connect to another Metro vehicle, tell your operator, and they will make sure your fare includes a transfer, which is valid on any other Metro vehicle within the next two hours.
