Metro Transit is Your Ticket to Weekend Fun RIDE ON to Battlehawks, Cardinals and Earth Day Festivities
The bi-state region will be busy this weekend as thousands of sports fans, families and other visitors travel to downtown St. Louis to watch the St. Louis Battlehawks and St. Louis Cardinals compete, or head to Forest Park to enjoy the celebration at the St. Louis Earth Day Festival. Metro Transit is a convenient, affordable and environmentally-friendly option for anyone who wants to enjoy all of the weekend fun without worrying about heavy traffic, road closures and finding somewhere to park.
Downtown St. Louis – St. Louis Battlehawks and St. Louis Cardinals
Sports fans will fill downtown St. Louis this weekend as the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium Friday evening and Saturday and Sunday afternoons, and the St. Louis Battlehawks face off against the Memphis Showboats Saturday morning at The Dome at America’s Center.
Those headed to the game can park their vehicle for free at any of 21 Metro Park-Ride lots located at MetroLink stations in Missouri and Illinois, purchase a round-trip MetroLink ticket for just $5 and ride to the Convention Center MetroLink Station (located right next to The Dome at America’s Center) for the St. Louis Battlehawks game, or ride to Stadium MetroLink Station (located right outside of Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village) to watch the Cardinals. MetroBus is another option to enjoy the games in downtown St. Louis. Fans can ride on any of more than a dozen MetroBus routes to the Civic Center Transit Center, located just two blocks west of Busch Stadium. MetroBus routes serving Civic Center Transit Center include the #4 Natural Bridge, #10 Gravois-Lindell, #11 Chippewa, #19 St. Louis Ave., #30 Arsenal, #31 Chouteau, #32 Dr. ML King, #40 N. Broadway, #41 Lee, #73 Carondelet, #74 Florissant, #94 Page and #97 Delmar. A one-ride MetroBus tickets is only $1.
Forest Park – St. Louis Earth Day Festival
The St. Louis Earth Day Festival returns to Forest Park on Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21. The festival will be held near The Muny grounds in Forest Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, and visitors can learn about the environment, sustainable-living and more about Metro Transit, while enjoying food, entertainment and hands-on activities for all ages.
Festival-goers looking for a convenient, environmentally-friendly option to Earth Day can walk, bicycle or carpool to any of 21 free Metro Park-Ride lots in Missouri and Illinois, and ride MetroLink to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere, Skinker or Central West End MetroLink Stations. All three MetroLink stations are located about a half-mile from the festival grounds in Forest Park.
