Metro Transit is looking to add new Part-Time Bus Operators, Part-Time Van Operators, and Full-Time Diesel Mechanics to the team as they get ready for 2026. Metro will be offering on-site interviews for these positions at their next hiring event on Saturday, January 10, at the Illinois MetroBus Facility (801 N. 47th Street,  East St. Louis, IL) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with instant job offers provided to qualified candidates.

The Part-Time Bus Operator and Part-Time Van Operator positions are a great opportunity for individuals interested in supplementing their income with a variety of available shift times and flexible schedules. Paid training is provided, with part-time MetroBus Operators earning $25+/hour after training, and part-time Metro Call‑A‑Ride Van Operators earning $21/hour after training.

Metro Mechanic positions offer competitive pay; an excellent benefits package including pension, retirement, medical/dental/vision; tool and uniform allowances; and all new mechanics are eligible for a $5,000 Hiring Bonus.
