Convention Center Station Temporarily Closes for Several Months Starting January 6

Return to Blog

Elevator tower at street level with Convention Center signageThe Convention Center MetroLink Station in downtown St. Louis will temporarily close for several months starting on Monday, January 6, 2025. The closure is needed for maintenance and repairs of station infrastructure, removal of aging escalators, and staircase rehabilitation and construction. The Convention Center Station will reopen after the project is completed, which is anticipated to be next spring.

During the temporary closure, you will not be able to access the Convention Center Station or station platform, and MetroLink trains will not stop at the station. Metro Transit will operate a Metro Shuttle during the closure between the Civic Center and Convention Center MetroLink Stations to assist you when you’re traveling to or from destinations near Convention Center, like the MX District and The Dome at America’s Center. The Metro Shuttle van operates every 25 minutes.

    1. I find this to be a very inconvenient time for this to occur, the weather is severe and intense. This could have potentially been done in better weather conditions.

    2. I really hope this construction does not last longer than several months; many people rely on this stop to go to their respective jobs and homes.

    3. Shutting the entire stop down seems drastic. What happened to just doing single-line work? This is a frequently used stop.

Dates of the battlehawks are the busses going to handle the amount of people at civic center I think you might need bigger busses to handle all the people that go to games
