Help Improve Metro Transit With Our On-Board Survey

Return to Blog

A man in a blue vest surveys a woman bus rider on the busStarting tomorrow (April 9), you may notice personnel in blue vests conducting surveys with Metro Transit customers. Over the next few weeks, these surveyors will help us gather valuable information from our riders to better understand how the transit system is being used.

Our goal is to collect feedback that represents all of the different types of people using MetroLink or MetroBus, looking at different areas of the region, different times of day, etc. Your responses help our Planning team better understand who is using the system and how they are using it. In turn, this data helps us make better decisions on how to improve transit service today, and make informed decisions for long-term transit improvements in the years ahead.

What to Expect During the On-Board Survey

  • Surveyors can be identified by their blue vest and ‘Surveyor’ badge.
  • Survey participants are chosen randomly. You cannot volunteer to participate in the survey. The survey team uses technology to make sure the selection process for survey participants is not biased, and the data collected is statistically valid.
  • It takes about five minutes to complete the survey if you are asked to participate.
  • No ID is required to participate in the survey. While the survey asks about demographic information like income or household details, all responses remain anonymous and are combined with others to protect your privacy.

If you are asked to take the survey, please consider participating and help shape what transit service looks like in the St. Louis region, today and in the future. Thank you for your support.
