Weather Updates: Friday, Jan. 10

Return to Blog

Update: The winter weather event has passed. Please check the Rider Alerts page for updates on current transit services.

The recent winter storm has created treacherous conditions on area roadways, and snow and sleet covered sidewalks, bus stops and MetroLink stations. Please take extra caution and look for slick spots on roads, sidewalks and pathways, and please allow plenty of extra time.

Visit this page for the latest updates on Metro Transit services during the winter weather storm.

I understand the weather is really bad, but when you state limited service what does that mean, that the buses are running every 45-1hour at a time. Just want to know how to plan my route for tomorrow for the 74 and 79 bus routes heading into Clayton and leaving Clayton.

Hi my name is Antwan McCoy I’m going to be at downtown St Louis Civic center I need a lift from there at 11:00 p.m. I get off work then

  3. michelle jacobcik says:

Thank you to all the workers, bus drivers, and train operators who helped get people where they needed to be during and after the winter storm.

What’s going on with the number 97 bus (Delmar) I was out at the stop long enough to catch 2 of them does the bus now run every hour and a half are is not running today?

  6. What about the 64 bus on lucas n hunt what day do it start running

  7. Dakota Himes says:

the 31 is not running today and this article says otherwise, can you please correct it

  8. I would like to make a comment about some of the bus drivers that I’ve seen so far. I thought that bus drivers were supposed to be polite. When I am going to work in the mornings the bus drivers are so rude when some of the passengers are boarding the bus. They need to make a notice of how impolite the bus drivers can be sometimes for the safety of the passengers.

  9. Irving Smith Sr says:

Im am 50 years old and i never seen public transportation do this. People have to get to work and you just say f us.we had much worser weather than this. But I know it’s these young bus driver. Sad very sad

  10. Stephan Griffin says:

I had no way home because you guys stopped busses form running after 8 you don’t know how many passengers got stuck because of this decision not to mention it should’ve been announced on busses or metro link you guys should provide some type of alternative

  11. Debra says:

What time will the 79 start running

  12. Shannon Villa says:

Buses should not be stopping mid-route. When service ends at 8pm that needs to mean a bus scheduled to depart by 759pm from a terminal will complete its trip picking up and dropping off until the end of the line not somehow stop picking up at 8pm or ending its route early if there are no other riders onboard. This makes zero sense. Learn from other agencies.

  13. Shannon Villa says:

Also, please provide your reasoning for ending service early. If a route is passable at 7pm it’s passable at 9pm or 10pm etc. so ending service at 8pm is not because of the road conditions and neither is starting service at 8am. Metro has failed the region.

  14. L. W says:

I do not understand why Metro and the Transit App cannot communicate with the riders.
If they can update the Transit App to tell us that service is from 8am-8pm due to the snow, or a bus is rerouted, why can they not tell us if a route is out of service well in advance? I have been stranded, as well as other colleagues and coworkers that ride the 59. Not to mention other riders I have met in the Metro Parking Garage at Wash U waiting. Please communicate with us better. Asking us to check the website, when you asked us to use the Transit app is not acceptable. Use the transit app to inform us. What are other cities doing for their riders?

  15. What about the 64 bus is it still running

  16. Becca says:

Instead of call a ride cancelling certain individuals when some with no income have to work to pay rent/bills some where temporary evicted until can go back to work and pay rent and medical trips dialysis patients can get transportation from dialysis or & ambulance but for Dr or dental appointment ambulance can’t be used for those & teeth are important health risk that can effect our health and instead of dialysis treatments they are trying to treat the beginning stages of diabetes with nutrition counseling and call a ride was denied trips and if they want to keep everyone safe every trip even dialysis trips shouldn’t of been honored either cause dialysis patients can get an ambulance or get transportation from their dialysis place,

Those with no income who have to work to pay rent one day to miss work to clean up after the weather stopped but to cancel all week leaving some temporary evicted until can return to work and pay rent,
