New TVM Testing to Begin at Five MetroLink Stations

Return to Blog

Our team continues to make progress in the development and implementation of a new fare system for the Metro Transit system. In early March, we will install new, upgraded Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) at five MetroLink stations. Testing will begin for the new gate validators and their integration with the security gates.

Testing will take several weeks, and during that time you may see the new validators or new TVMs power on or come online. These machines are not in service, and cannot be used to purchase fare or access the system.

Be advised that all the TVMs at the selected stations may be unavailable during the installation work.

When completed, the new fare system will give you more convenient options to pay, and introduce new features like Tap & Ride and fare capping, which prevents you from paying more than a day pass in a day, or more than a monthly pass in a month.
