The University City-Big Bend MetroLink Station will reopen to service on Tuesday, January 6, one week ahead of schedule due to the hard work and progress of the project team over the last two weeks. The station has been temporarily closed since mid-December for the installation of new infrastructure and upgrades through the Secure Platform Plan, which enhances customer safety and improves the passenger experience on MetroLink with new security gates, fencing, and real-time surveillance cameras.
At the beginning of service on Tuesday, January 6, the University City-Big Bend Station’s westbound entrance and elevator (located on the north side of Big Bend Blvd.) will reopen; MetroLink trains will resume service to the station; and the Metro Shuttle van in place during the temporary closure will be cancelled.
The station’s eastbound entrance (located on the south side of Big Bend Blvd.) will remain closed for construction work, and is expected to reopen during the week of January 12. During this period, MetroLink passengers can use the station’s westbound entrance and elevator to access both eastbound and westbound MetroLink trains at the station.
Transit riders with questions or who need assistance should contact Metro Transit Information at 314.231.2345 (phone) or 314.207.9786 (text), available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
