The historic tunnel under Union Station that MetroLink trains travel through was originally constructed in the 1890s and is nearing the end of its operational life. Metro Transit is conducting a major rehabilitation and replacement of the tunnel so it can continue to be a critical part of the region’s transportation infrastructure for decades to come.
