Civic Center and Union Stations Single-Track Details

Effective Jan 12th-18th

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday from 6:00 PM until After Revenue Service. KCI Construction will continue construction work inside the Union Station Tunnel. To accommodate this work, MetroLink will single-track at Union Station and Civic Center Stations.
During single-track operation:
o Blue Line Trains will only operate from Forest Park Station to Shrewsbury Station.
o Westbound Blue Line passengers traveling between the Fairview Heights Station and the Central West End Station should board a Red Line train to Forest Park Station to connect with a Blue Line train.
o Red Line service may experience delays up to 5 minutes.
o Customers should allow an additional 10 minutes when transferring to the Blue Line.
On Saturday from 11:30 PM until After Revenue Service:
o Trains may experience delays up to 5 minutes.

University City-Big Bend Station Reopens on January 6

DETAILS

The University City-Big Bend MetroLink Station will reopen to service on Tuesday, January 6. 

At the beginning of service on Tuesday, the station’s westbound entrance and elevator reopen (located on the north side of Big Bend Blvd.), MetroLink trains resume service to the station, and the Metro Shuttle Van is cancelled.

Please use the westbound entrance/elevator to access both eastbound and westbound trains and platforms. The station’s eastbound entrance (south side of Big Bend Blvd.) is expected to reopen the week of January 12.

Fairview Heights and Washington Park Stations  Single-Track Details:

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from Beginning of Revenue Service until After Revenue Service, to minimize disturbance of the 79th St. retaining wall, MetroLink will continue single-track at Fairview Heights and Washington Park Stations. 

During single-track operation:

• Blue Line Trains will only operate from Emerson Park Station to Shrewsbury Station 
• Westbound Blue Line passengers traveling between the Fairview Heights Station and the JJK Station should board a Red Line train to Emerson Park Station to connect with a Blue Line train.
• Eastbound Blue Line Trains will depart Shrewsbury Station 5 minutes prior to the scheduled departure and hold for time at Brentwood-I64 Station.

• Red Line service may experience delays of up to 5 minutes.
• Customers should allow an additional 10 minutes when transferring to the Blue Line.
