Metro Short Message Service (SMS) Scheduled and Real Time Information Delivery

Overview

Metro Transit riders can now get scheduled and real-time bus arrival information delivered to their cell phones, computers, or other mobile devices via SMS. The information returned will include the next 4 scheduled times along with corresponding estimated arrival times based on real-time data. Real-Time information is currently only available for MetroBus, not for MetroLink.

TEXT JOIN to 79322 to sign up. After signing up, TEXT your 5-digit bus stop number to 79322 to get estimated bus arrival times for that stop. If you include a specific route number after the bus stop number, you will receive arrival times for that route only. One reply per request or message and data rates may apply.

Bus stop numbers are posted on the signage at every MetroBus stop. In addition, bus stop numbers can be found using the Trip Planning, Route Schedules, or Next Departures section of our online Trip Planner tool.

Within a few seconds you should receive a response to your message. The message will show the times for the next MetroBuses arriving at that bus stop.

You should still arrive at your stop at least 10 minutes before the estimated arrival time, and check the next bus arrivals more than once to make sure the vehicle isn’t running faster or slower than when you last checked.

Example #2
