Metro and the American Red Cross Partner to Raise Awareness About Emergency Preparedness Month

September is Emergency Preparedness Month and to help educate Metro transit customers and the St. Louis region about the importance of being prepared for emergencies and disasters, Metro Ambassadors will be stationed at several Metro locations on Wednesday, September 3, and on Thursday, September 18, they will be joined by volunteers from the American Red Cross.

Metro customers will receive Red Cross and ALLReadySTL emergency preparedness information as well as forms to enter a drawing for a chance to win one of eight Red Cross Emergency Preparedness Kits. Passengers can fill out the entry forms on the spot, or enter online at www.metrostlouis.org, or mail the entry forms to Metro, 707 North First Street, Mailstop #146, St. Louis, MO 63102. All entries are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, September 26.

The Bi-State Development Agency/Metro (BSDA/Metro) is the operator of the Metro public transportation system for the St. Louis region, which includes the 87 vehicle, 46-mile MetroLink light rail system; 379 MetroBus vehicle fleet that operates on 75 MetroBus routes; and Metro Call‑A‑Ride, a paratransit fleet of 120 vans. BSDA/Metro also owns and operates St. Louis Downtown Airport and its surrounding industrial business park, and the Gateway Arch Riverboats, as well as operates the Gateway Arch Revenue Collections Center, the Gateway Arch Transportation System, and the Gateway Arch Parking Facility.
