Metro Offers Convenient Transit Options for Mardi Gras Revelers
Go Metro to the Soulard Mardi Gras and join the excitement without the worries of traffic, street closures, or parking. On Saturday, March 5, Metro will operate round-trip shuttle service from 14th & Spruce, near the Civic Center Transit Center, to Soulard from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Passengers may board or exit the shuttle which will be located southbound on 14th Street at Spruce, and at 10th Street & Marion Street.
The cost of a round-trip shuttle ticket is $5 (cash only). Metro Passes, College Student Universal Passes, other Metro Tickets or Transfers are not valid for the Soulard Mardi Gras Shuttle. Standard fares will apply for customers riding MetroLink, MetroBus or Metro Call‑A‑Ride to the Soulard Mardi Gras Shuttle boarding location.
Shuttle bus tickets will be on sale at the Civic Center Transit Center, Shrewsbury, Brentwood, Clayton, North Hanley, Delmar Loop, and Central West End MetroLink Stations in Missouri, and at the Shiloh-Scott, College, Swansea, Memorial, Fairview Heights, 5th and Missouri, and East Riverfront MetroLink Stations in Illinois.
On Saturday, March 5, MetroLink will operate 15 minute service from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on both the Red and Blue lines. MetroLink will operate every 7.5 minutes from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. between Forest Park and Fairview Heights stations. Trains will operate from downtown until approximately 12:30 a.m.
MetroBus Reroutes
Due to the Soulard Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, March 5, Metro will reroute several MetroBus lines in the downtown area.
8 – BATES MORGANFORD – During Parade
Eastbound – Regular route to Russell and Gravois, left on Gravois into Tucker, resume regular route.
Westbound – Regular route to Tucker and 12th, continue on Tucker into Gravois, right on Russell, resume regular route.
30 – SOULARD – During Parade
Northbound – Regular route to northbound on Broadway and Arsenal, left on Arsenal, right on 13th, immediate left onto I-55 north, exit at Gravois, right on Gravois into Tucker, left on Chouteau, resume regular route.
Southbound – Regular route to Chouteau and Tucker, right on Tucker into Gravois, left on I-55 south, exit and left on Arsenal, right on 2nd, right on Utah, right on Broadway, left on Arsenal, resume regular route.
40 – BROADWAY – During Parade
Northbound – Regular route to Broadway and Arsenal, left on Arsenal, right on 13th, immediate left onto I-55 north, exit at Gravois, right on Gravois into Tucker, right on Market, left on 4th, resume regular route.
Southbound – Regular route to Broadway and Market, right on Market, left on Tucker into Gravois, left on I-55 south, exit and left on Arsenal, right on Broadway, resume regular route.
73 – CARONDELET – Beginning of Service to end of Service
Northbound – Regular route to Lemp and Arsenal, right on Arsenal, left on 13th, immediate left onto I-55 north, exit at Gravois, right on Gravois into Tucker, resume regular route.
Southbound – Regular route to Tucker and 12th, continue into Gravois, left on I-55 south, exit and right on Arsenal, left on Lemp, resume regular route.
