Metro is pleased to announce that Jessica Mefford-Miller and Courtney Sloger have been named to Mass Transit magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 list which honors individuals under 40 years old who have made significant contributions to the public transit industry. Mefford-Miller is the Chief of Planning and System Development at Metro and Sloger is Metro’s Online Media Specialist.

“We are very proud and fortunate to have these two outstanding individuals making a difference here at Metro,” said John Nations, Metro President and CEO. “We thank Jessica and Courtney for their dedication and commitment to the mission and values of our Agency and we celebrate this latest achievement with them.”

Mefford-Miller has been the Chief of Planning and System Development at Metro Transit since 2009. She coordinates the Agency’s long-range and short-term transit planning and oversees the scheduling, planning, research and development, and customer service areas.

Sloger joined Metro in 2009 as the Agency’s first online media specialist. She is the editor of Metro’s NextStop transit blog where she shares operations updates, service changes, customer and employee stories, and other transit news of interest. She established and connects with Metro’s customers on Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube, and Scribd accounts.

This is the third year Mass Transit Magazine has announced its Top 40 Under 40 list. Mefford-Miller and Sloger were nominated by their peers and judged on several factors including job commitment, achievement in their position, industry involvement and contribution, and innovation in their field. They are featured with the other recipients from across the country in the September/October cover issue of Mass Transit magazine and online at www.MassTransitmag.com.
