Flashback Friday

Return to Blog

Today’s photo is actually a vintage postcard of the entrance to Forest Park at Lindell and Kingshighway. The date is estimated to be in the 1920s.

The back of the postcard reads: Forest Park, the largest tract set aside for public use in St. Louis, contains 1,381 acres but is only one of the chain of 65 parks and 26 playgrounds which have been provided for residents of St. Louis. It provides a playground for virtually the entire city, and in it are located the zoo, rated as the best in the world, and the St. Louis Art Museum, ranking among the four leading museums in the United States.
