East Riverfront MetroLink Station to Temporarily Close Beginning January 30 for Station Upgrades and Maintenance

[ST. LOUIS, MO/Jan. 24, 2023]  The East Riverfront MetroLink Station in East St. Louis will be temporarily closed starting January 30 to allow Metro Transit crews and contractors to perform work at the station, including platform improvements and staircase replacement. The East Riverfront MetroLink Station is expected to be closed for at least two months to accommodate the construction work.

During the closure, MetroLink trains will not stop at the East Riverfront Station. The station platform will be closed and inaccessible to customers. A free shuttle will be available for MetroLink customers who need to travel to or from the East Riverfront Station. The shuttles will operate between the 5th & Missouri and East Riverfront Stations approximately every 20 minutes. Riders should look for signs at the 5th & Missouri and East Riverfront Stations to find the shuttle stop.

MetroLink customers who normally park at the East Riverfront Station to connect with the trains are encouraged to use the free Park-Ride lot at the 5th & Missouri MetroLink Station for their commutes. The 5th & Missouri Station is located at 150 North 6th Street in East St. Louis, Illinois.
