Enjoy the Fun and Excitement of MetroFest on May 13

MetroFest is coming to the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 Transit Center (7201 Lansdowne Ave., 63119) on Friday, May 13, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Transit riders, families, neighbors and others are invited to enjoy this special event that brings transit to life with music, food, fun activities, free giveaways, prizes, career opportunities – and a chance to check out Metro Transit’s new, state-of-the-art electric buses. The entire event is free and everyone is invited!

Visitors will enjoy the sounds of HOT 104.1, who will be on location during MetroFest, while taking part in a number of free programs and activities, including dance performances and classes from Modern American Dance Company, face painting and balloon animals with Circus Kaput, fitness contests and pick-your-own-garden activities with Bayer’s Garden Shop. Connect with organizations and partners for free giveaways and information, including:

  • Missouri Botanical Garden
  • Citizens for Modern Transit
  • Great Rivers Greenway
  • Gateway Region YMCA
  • Metro Transit Public Safety & Bureau of Transit Police
  • Gateway Arch & Gateway Arch Riverboats

Free shaved ice from Ice Shack STL, Gus’ Pretzels and cotton candy will be available, and attendees will have a chance to win a variety of prizes, including Metro Transit passes, tickets to an upcoming Cardinals-Cubs game, Holiday World tickets, Arch and Riverboat tickets, and more.

Ride Metro, walk, bike, or drive to enjoy MetroFest at the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 Transit Center. Visitors can ride MetroLink or any of six MetroBus routes (#9 Oakville, #11 Chippewa, #16 City Limits, #21 Watson Rd., #30 Arsenal, #56 Kirkwood-Webster) to reach the festivities, and the transit center has 800 free spaces in its Park-Ride lot.

Metro Transit
