Another busy week on the MetroLink alignment will create minor delays for some customers. MetroLink will operate on a single track during the day Monday through Friday from the East Riverfront MetroLink Station to the Arch-Laclede’s Landing MetroLink Station. MetroLink will also operate on a single track evenings at other locations. More detailed information is below:

Monday – Friday, April 2-6, from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., MetroLink will operate on a single track between the East Riverfront and the Arch-Laclede’s Landing MetroLink Stations. On Wednesday, April 4, the single track operations will start at the beginning of service and continue until the end of service that day. Blue and Red Line passengers should expect five minute delays.

Tuesday – Thursday, April 2-5, beginning at 8 p.m. until the end of service, MetroLink will conduct rail grinding on the tracks between the Union Station and Stadium MetroLink Stations. To accommodate the crews, MetroLink will operate on a single track between the Union Station and Civic Center MetroLink Stations. During the single track operations, Blue Line trains will only operate between the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station to the Shrewsbury I-44 MetroLink Station. Westbound Blue Line passengers traveling between Fairview Heights and the Central West End MetroLink Stations need to board a Red Line train and transfer to a Blue Line train at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station. Eastbound Blue Line passengers traveling between the Central West End and Fairview Heights MetroLink Stations should board a Red Line train at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station to travel eastbound. Blue Line passengers should allow an extra 10 minutes for their commutes. Red Line passengers may experience five minute delays.

NOTE: As the special equipment used for the rail grinding slowly moves down the tracks through different communities, it is important to remind residents that the rail grinder creates sparks. On occasion, these sparks will touch off small fires along the tracks. A fire suppression crew follows directly behind the rail grinder to immediately douse any flames. Metro has contacted emergency responders in the affected communities in advance.
