Metro’s Forest Park Shuttle Returns Saturday, May 29 for the Summer Tourism Season
Metro is putting all of the many attractions at Forest Park – from the Zoo to the Art Museum to the Science Center – just a quick hop away for visitors starting Memorial Day weekend with the return of the MetroBus Forest Park Shuttle on Saturday, May 29.
Operating seven days a week on 15-minute intervals, the Shuttle will deliver visitors to all of the park’s destinations conveniently and comfortably while making a loop from the Forest Park MetroLink Station through all bus stops: the History Museum, the Visitors Center, the Art Museum, the Zoo, the Boat House, the Muny Opera, the Jewel Box, the Science Center, the Steinberg Skating Rink, and then back to the Visitors Center, the History Museum, and the Forest Park MetroLink Station.
The Shuttle will operate daily from 9:45 a.m. until 6:45 p.m. beginning Saturday through Labor Day, September 6.
Customers may purchase tickets for the Shuttle while boarding and enjoy unlimited rides all day, hopping off and on at each destination. Shuttle tickets are $2 for adults; $1 for senior citizens, passengers with disabilities and children 6 – 12; and free for children five and under. The Shuttle also accepts regular passes and transfers.
A route map and complete schedule for the Shuttle is available on Metro’s Web site at https://www.metrostlouis.org/MetroBus/MapsRoutes.asp.
Metro is returning the Forest Park Shuttle for the 2010 season as part of service restoration financed by revenues from the half-cent sales tax approved by voters in St. Louis County in April. The Shuttle actually launches before Phase One of service restoration that begins June 28, when many of the services cuts made for financial reasons in 2009 will be restored. Service restoration will be complete later this year.
