Restoration 2010: Metro Going Out to the Public with Information on Transit Changes Coming August 30

WHAT: With the most significant transit-service changes in years coming on August 30, Metro employees will be at MetroBus Transfer Centers and MetroLink stations on weekdays until then to provide customers with information on changes coming to 53 MetroBus routes. SIGNIFICANCE: Three months ahead of schedule, Metro will implement the second, final and larger phase of service restoration on August 30, 2010. While this will not be a block-by-block reproduction of service as customers knew it before the reductions in 2009, Metro will restore its geographic service footprint and implement other changes that will make service to many customers better than ever, while also making it more efficient and cost-effective.

This phase affects 53 MetroBus routes. The first phase implemented on June 28 affected more than 20 MetroBus routes and increased MetroLink frequency to 12 minutes from 15 minutes.

Details on route and time changes are available at www.metrostlouis.org, or by calling Metro Customer Service at 314-231-2345 or 618-271-2345.
