Special Metro Service to Art Hill for Friday Movie Series
Metro makes it easy to have some Friday night fun, enjoy some food and take in a movie outdoors in Forest Park this summer. The #3 Forest Park Trolley will operate free, special trips after 7 p.m. between the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station and Art Hill on four Friday evenings – July 14, July 21, July 28 and August 4 — for the Saint Louis Art Museum Art Hill Film Series. The first movie in the lineup is Titanic.
Movie buffs can park at any one of the 21 free Metro Park-Ride lots in Missouri and Illinois, ride MetroLink to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station, and then hop on the trolley starting at 7:20 p.m. on one of those four Fridays for a free ride to Art Hill. MetroBus is another great option with the #1 Gold and #90 Hampton since both routes connect to the #3 Forest Park Trolley at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station. Residents living nearby may choose to walk or cycle to the station to get on the trolley.
On the Art Hill Film Series Fridays — July 14, July 21, July 28 and August 4 — the special trolley service will operate every 30 minutes between 7:20 p.m. and 9 p.m. for Metro passengers headed to the film event on Art Hill. The trolley will provide return trips every 30 minutes from the Saint Louis Art Museum to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station starting at 9:56 p.m. on July 14, 9:50 p.m. on July 21, and 10 p.m. on July 28 and August 4.
IMPORTANT: Please note that due to the length of the film Titanic on July 14, MetroLink passengers will need to return on the trolley to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station by 12:12 a.m. to catch the last MetroLink train of the night. MetroBus riders should check the bus schedule ahead of time to make sure they allow enough time to catch the last #1 Gold and #90 Hampton buses leaving the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station.
The Art Hill Film Series gives movie goers the opportunity to see a film while sitting in a scenic outdoor setting on Art Hill, between the Grand Basin and Saint Louis Art Museum in Forest Park. Movies begin promptly at 9 p.m., and seating space for blankets and lawn chairs is available on a first come, first served basis. The movie lineup this summer is:
- Friday, July 14 – Titanic
- Friday, July 21 – Dreamgirls
- Friday, July 28 – To Catch a Thief
- Friday, August 4 – The Devil Wears Prada
