Flashback Friday

Return to Blog

Isn’t it this a neat view of St. Louis after nightfall? A streetcar travels eastbound on the 1300 block of Washington Avenue in 1950, passing by the Tober-Saifer Shoe Company. The buildings you can make out through the dark now house the Knickerbocker and Grace Lofts and Flannery’s Irish Pub.

Ride Metro downtown to catch all the action at this weekend’s Arch Madness Missouri Valley Conference college basketball tournament. Then use your special pass to explore modern-day Washington Avenue via the Downtown Trolley!
