Flashback Friday

Return to Blog

Are you ready for the answer St. Louis?

In this week’s Flashback Friday, we see some familiar landmarks still in use today (check out the before and after photo below). Most notably, in the center of the shot, we see the historic Southside Tower, a historic art deco building located at the intersection of Grand Boulevard and Gravois Road. This particular photo was taken on February 25, 1947.

FUN FACT: The tower’s opening on January 2, 1929 was celebrated with a marking that read: “The Dawn of a New Day for Grand and Gravois.”
