Were you able to guess the details of today’s photo? This is Grand at Lafayette, looking north, in 1949. Currently, this is the site of Saint Louis University’s Salus Center fitness and classroom facility.
The photo was taken well before Interstate 44 was carved out along Lafayette at this spot.

993 is a 50 SOUTHAMPTON streetcar turning south in front of a 70 GRAND streetcar. They will continue south, on Grand together, until the 50 SOUTHAMPTON turns west on Arsenal street.
The date is incorrect. I was born at Incarnate Word in January 1950.
