This view is looking northbound on Skinker Boulevard from what was then Millbrook Avenue, now Forest Park Parkway. The date is March 3, 1949.
The building on the right with the dry cleaners would later house Talayna’s for many years. Now Kayak’s and the underground Skinker MetroLink Station is there.

What is unusual about this photo is the 04 CLAYTON streetcar in the photo is not on route. It is pulling out to it’s route. The car line ended just behind the photographer where the motorman switched ends and returned southbound on Skinker to west on Wydown.
