Metro to Run Shuttles in Forest Park This Weekend
Beautiful weather and a day off from work and school prompted some Bi-State area residents to head to Forest Park today and traffic became congested as visitors tried to get to the St. Louis Zoo and other popular attractions. Metro anticipates Forest Park will again be a popular destination this holiday weekend and in anticipation of traffic congestion in the park, the #90 Hampton MetroBus will run its summer reroute schedule through Forest Park from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April 7 & 8.
MetroBus shuttles will serve passengers in Forest Park Saturday and Sunday starting at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station to all Forest Park attractions. The shuttles will operate on the #3 Forest Park Trolley route and schedule. The MetroBus vehicle will have “Shuttle” in the overhead sign.
Forest Park visitors are encouraged to avoid Hampton Avenue to enter the park and can conveniently park and then ride the shuttles via the Upper Muny Parking Lot and the Twin Parking Lots across from the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor and Education Center. The shuttle will take cash fares and regular Metro tickets and passes.
Information and a map of the shuttle route which is the #3 Forest Park Trolley route for Saturday and Sunday can be found at www.metrostlouis.org.
